Palmera is excited to invite you to the celebration of the 10th anniversary of The Giveaway Archive, a project first initiated by Gabriel Johann Kvendseth in 2012. Back then -in an effort to sort finished and unfinished artwork, materials collected over the years, sketches, odds and ends- the archive became an interactive installation in which the audience was invited to take anything from the display, filling out a simple form that described what was taken. Gabriel sat at a desk in front, performing the function of notary and observer. There he notarized and hung up the documents, in an effort to retain the essence of what was taken. For its 10th anniversary, the archive has been reshaped into what at first glance appears to be a conventional display of artwork, but quickly reveals itself as a backdrop for the coming giveaway. This time you are welcomed into a try-your-luck / what-is-meant-to-be-yours-will-be-yours situation. We invite you to celebrate with us while exploring the relationship between desire and chance.

♧ May fortune be forever in your favor!
